Multitasking Most Web content management systems (CMS) limit you to update one piece of content at a time. With Elexio’s CMS you can have multiple pieces of content open at the same time for editing. You can update your calendar of events, your staff directory, etc. at the same time. When a staff member asks for a quick change on the homepage you can jump right in and update that content as well, and, when you are done, you can pickup exactly where you left off on the other areas you were updating. |

Inline Page Editing Most Web content management systems (CMS) make you edit your content (text and pictures) in an editor that is separate from your graphic design. Then you have to preview the page to see what it will actually look like. With Elexio’s CMS you see your content and your website graphic design at the same time. You see the webpage as your visitors will see it and you edit the content right inside the graphic design. With this capability you have the advantage of making your content colors and style match your graphic design. |

Specific Content Editor/Publisher Privileges Content editors/publishers are people that you allow to update your website and make the content live for the public to view it. For simplicity, we will call them editors. You can setup an unlimited number of editors with their own unique username and password and assign specific privileges to each editor that defines what content they are permitted to update. You control what each editor is allowed to do, such as: specific pages an editor is allowed to update, access to update the calendar, ability to upload pictures, etc. |

Drag & Drop Page Manager The Drag & Drop Page Manager makes is easy to rearrange pages on your website. Simply select or highlight the page you want to move, and drag that page into the page menu area to the specific folder or location you want it, and drop it off. We also offer a standard page reordering button. You have your choice – we make it easy for you to have total control over your website. |

Drag & Drop File Manager The Drag and Drop File Manager makes it really easy to upload files to your website. In the file management area of the content management tools, you set up folders to organize your files. Then with Drag and Drop you simply select and drag any number of files (pictures, audio, video, pdf, and others) from a folder on your PC and drop them off over the upload area for a particular folder. Click “upload”, and it’s done. You can set up folders for each department in your ministry so everything is easily accessible. For example, you could setup a picture folder for a mission trip and then drag your pictures into the folder to upload them to use on your website. |

Form Builder The form builder gives you the power to build a form on any page of your website allowing you to collect information from people. WYSIWYG is an acronym for: What You See Is What You Get. With the Form Builder, that means the way the form looks when you create it will be the same way it will look on the finished webpage. The Form Builder allows you to easily create a custom online form on any page of your website without knowing any programming code. For example, you could use the form builder to create online surveys, poles, and registration for events. The data collected in the form is emailed to you and stored in the content management system database. At any time, you can download the data collected into a database such as MS Excel. |

Page Approval System The Page Approval System uses editors and publishers. With permission, an editor may work on a page, but only a publisher may make that page viewable to the public. Our Page Editing Approval System allows the administrator of the site to easily set up multiple publishers to approve the work of certain editors. Editors may make changes and save their work, but it won’t “go live” until a publisher approves it. An example might be youth that work on the site. You may want to approve the content or maybe at least check their spelling. It’s a great way to safeguard your website content. |
| Page Archive & Version Rollback Page Archive and Version Rollback allows the database of your website to hold in memory the last 5 revisions of every page on your site for every editor of that page. If you have 5 people that can work on a certain page, over time, the database will hold 25 different revisions of that page in memory. If a page comes up for review, you can simply “go back” to the way the page looked at a previous date, and you won’t have to try to remember how it was and re-create it. This can be a big time saver and a wonderful built in archive. |
What is a Content Management System (CMS)?
According to Wikipedia: a content management system (CMS) is computer software used to create, edit, manage, and publish content in a consistently-organized fashion. CMSs are frequently used for storing, controlling, versioning, and publishing industry-specific documentation such as news articles, operators' manuals, technical manuals, sales guides, and marketing brochures. The content managed may include computer files, image media, audio files, electronic documents, and web content.
What is a Web Content Management System (WCMS)?
According to Wikipedia: a Web content management system (WCMS or Web CMS) is content management system (CMS) software, usually implemented as a Web application, for creating and managing HTML content. It is used to manage and control a dynamic collection of Web material (HTML documents and their associated images). A WCMS facilitates content creation, content control, editing, and many essential Web maintenance functions. Unlike Web-site builders like Microsoft FrontPage or Adobe Dreamweaver, a WCMS allows non-technical users to make changes to an existing website with little or no training. A WCMS typically requires an experienced coder to set up and add features, but is primarily a Web-site maintenance tool for non-technical administrators. (However, Elexio's CMS is so easy to use that a computer novice can update your website in minutes. See Elexio's definition of WCMS at the top of this page.)
Why consider a Web Content Management System (WCMS)?
The goal is to keep your website content accurate, easily accessible and current. Typically, one dedicated web person can’t do that. If they are on vacation, sick or re-locate, you’re in trouble. Let multiple people work on specific parts of the website – each with specific privileges and responsibilities. You can keep it current, no one gets burned out, and if you have staff turnover, you can teach their replacement how to do what is needed in a very short time. Elexio’s content management website solutions will help you easily manage the content of your site and save you time.
Are all Web Content Management Systems created equal?
Elexio invested over one million dollars ($1,000,000) in developing a leading Web content management system for ministries. We did not buy another company's content management system so we are not restricted by another company continuing to use older technology. Elexio built the content management system from the ground up using the highest quality .Net software and SQL database from Microsoft®. Our software development team is extremely talented. This is important for you because this means that Elexio can make the content management system bend over backwards for ministries and perform amazing things that other CMS software can’t come close to.
Elexio's CMS is PC and MAC compatible - you can edit and update in IE 6, IE7, Firefox 3, and Safari 3.
Our CMS allows for unlimited editors and publishers, and offers an approval system so you can check content before it goes live on the site. Interactivity is accomplished using audio, video, blogs, e-invitations, etc. Visual dynamic calendars, online searchable photo directories and programmable channels are other examples of database driven content. It is important to determine what you need and then budget for a website accordingly.
